What's New?

Sorry we haven't posted much lately.  We've been tied up with our foster pug, Miss Daisy, and her doings, busy with family life, and other excuses!

Miss Daisy is busy recovering from her multi-surgery session last Tuesday.  She has been on 2 pain medications since and doesn't seem to be uncomfortable at all after the day we brought her home. Just to be sure, we're continuing to give them to her for the 5 days as prescribed.  I'm pretty sure we have more than that of the medications.  Her diarrhea has cleared up as well.  Breakfast today was her last white rice with boiled chicken mush.  I'm sure she'll be happy to get mushy kibble this evening!

Her spay continues to not give her any discomfort at all.  We are still trying to limit her activity, but she's getting back into her old self quickly being wiggly and spastic, turning in circles when excited, like time to eat and bounding up and down the stairs!

We've not had any home visits and will not do this until next weekend, if we think she has recovered and the vet OK's it.

Regarding her nare surgery.  I think it is a success!  Her passages were so narrow, you could hardly see the hole.  The nares are still swollen but each day is much better.

Here are some pictures, before and after:

Before surgery

After surgery

As you can see, they are still pretty swollen and red.  She doesn't snort stuff out her nose like she did when she first came home from surgery.  In person, I can really see the difference.

Minnie and Mack are being good foster siblings to Miss Daisy. Even Minnie is warming to up her some.  Miss Daisy knows to just keep some distance between the two of them.  Mack is being an angel!

We plan on getting back to visiting and commenting on everyone's blog real soon.

Have a great weekend,
Hu-mom and the puggies

So glad that Miss Daisy is recovering well! That pink skin will turn black again as it heals. Bless her heart to go through all of it at once, but it's for the best to only go under anesthesia once.

Sounds very good! Pain meds are great, chicken mush is great and glad the nose is better, too!

Keep on going strong Ms. Daisy! We have never had to deal with nare surgery, thank goodness, but no its a risk with pugs. Pugs are the best but they do have their issues!

It sounds like Miss Daisy is recovering well. She is such a precious one. I am happy for her. Glad to know Minnie does not mind the foster sibling as much any more either. :)

I am so happy for Miss Daisy! It's really amazing what a difference the surgery made for her nostrils. You don't necessarily notice how bad it was until you see the after shot.
Love,
Payton
PS. There was no doubt in my mind that Mack would be a sweetheart and take care of Miss Daisy! Kisses!

Hi Minnie, Mack, Miss Daisy and Pug Mamma! I'm really happy that Miss Daisy is healing well, it must have been hard for her bless her having all that stuff done at once but at least done all at once is better than one thing at a time, I love the photo of her, she is such a cutie, I'm sure her poor nose will heal soon! Sending prayers and good health juju to Miss Daisy and love to your family!

Oh my. Mom & I know what it's like to have a foster with lots of surgeries but we've never done the nare opening thing! So glad that Daisy will be breathing easier now. We puggies seem to know when one of our distant relatives isn't feeling the best and we behave accordingly. Or at least I do, I can't speak for Vinny. He's a wild card.

Can't wait to catch up on the rest of Daisy's stay with you!

Later!
Vito
