A Walk on the Wild Side

This morning Mack and I got go on a hike.  About half way through Mack decided he'd gone far enough so we had to cut it short.  Hu-mom said it was only 64 degrees and early enough that Mack shouldn't have complained about the heat and the humidity. I guess not....  We had a really nice walk in the park adjacent to our subdivision here in Northern VA, just outside Washington DC.  Mack is really a city dog, having spent his puppy hood in an 8th floor Condo in Washington DC and being a pug, he just isn't an outside, go on long hikes, type of dog. We know that....

There were so many new smells that we stopped a lot to smell and leave our own scents....

I heard all kinds of noises in the woods!

I thought about heading into the stream since my leash was off.

I got my feet wet and the water was really cold, so I headed out quickly!

There were lots of pretty white wild flowers left, most of the ones with color were gone by now.

Honeysuckle smells sooooo gooood.

On the way home we saw some really pretty weeds and plants.  This was pink clover.

We don't remember what this bush was but it was heavy with flowers. (Close up below.) We know Mr. Bunny who lives in this bush and we were looking to tell  him "Hi" but he wasn't home.

This pretty flower was growing wild at the sewer opening!

Butter cups weeds!

So these were pictures of mostly wild flowers and pretty weeds that grow in our area.  There are LOTS of beautiful yards that are full of pretty flowers and plants  but we thought we just take some wild life photos today.  We also saw a hawk or maybe it was a big owl up in the trees in the park, but he was too fast for hu-mom to snap his picture.

We've had a few days of beautiful sunshine and no rain.  I don't know the forecast but hope it continues!

Happy Sunday everyone.

Love,
Minnie  :)

It's really warm in our part of VA, and I think it's supposed to stay that way all week. Enjoy the flowers and nice weather.

Lovely shots of your weekend walk. If you could, we'd love it if you'd send all the rain our way. We need it desperately!

Hi Friends,
How nice to hear from u too. Thanks for coming by... we are trying hard to settle down n get back to our normal life and it really means a lot when friends come over to say hi:)-

That was a lovely walk u went on. We don't have many flowers around now as it is already very hot. But we are looking forward to a real spring n real winter n real change of seasons now that we are in Delhi.Unlike in southern India, here in the north things change a lot with the revolution of the earth:)

have a happy week ahead

Oh man, I'm with Mack on being an inside pup. Coco likes to go out and even, GASP, Lay in the grass. Can you believe that? I would never, ever let the grass touch my belly. The flowers sure are pretty but I like to view them through glass :)

It is really sad that pugs just cannot handle the heat because of their smooshed faces but at least they can relax and play indoors when the weather is too uncomfortable!
