Hi Blogville friends,
It sure seems like a lot of THINGS have been happening in the WASHINGTON DC area where I live in the past few weeks!
First we had the earthquake!!!! Yeow-za, that really freaked Mack and me out....luckily, we did not have any damage at our house. Some folks are still finding damage.
Then, while hu-mom and hu-dad were out of town, partying the night away, Hurricane Irene blasted through our area. Again, we had no damage, just a lot of debris in the yard from the trees.
THEN, we had the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee. We had between 6-8 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. The entire DC area suffered more damage from the flooding than from Hurricane Irene. The picture below is our little creek. You can see the mud that washed down the slope. The entire asphalt trail in the park was underwater and there's a lot of damage to the trail, bridges and dams. We took this picture yesterday morning. We spoke to people who were in the part during the flooding and it was at least 10 FEET higher! We can't even imagine...but you can see the flattened greenery and debris left behind.
Hu-mom's computer (with all the pictures) is still sick. Hu-dad has ordered an RX recovery disk and we hope that medicine fixes it! The camera issue is still up in the air...
We have our paws crossed that all our Blogville friends are now safe and sound.
Love,
Minnie : )

I'm thinkin that you have had MORE than enough of Mother Nature's worst. Let's HOPE that Nothing MORE happens.
We're just glad that you had no damage.... Too much weather in one month. Hopefully that's the end of it.
Have a great weekend.

I'm glad you all didn't have any significant damage. I have to agree with you . . . enough with the earthquake and hurricane nonsense!
It has been a wicked year. I am sad from all the suffering.
It has been quite crazy, huh? We are so glad everyone is safe!
Love,
Payton
We're sure glad that you're all okay! Mother Nature sure doesn't mess around. Hopefully, you'll have a calm and peaceful fall!

So glad you're safe and sound! Those were some nasty weather events you got hit with!
Stay safe. You guys sure have experienced just about every weird weather event there is.
P.S. Can you please send some of that water to us in Texas? We're in a drought stage alert.
Hi Minnie & Mack - Gosh, it has really been the wars round where you live, hasn't it? How scary! I'm so relieved that you're all OK - and also that Minnie has had the "all clear" and can go on nice walks again!
Slobbers,
