Brodie is Home! Update #3

We just want to first thank everyone for their care and concern.  It seems that it worked!

Here's the story from today:

Brodie had a good night. No more vomiting after getting the shot at the vet yesterday. At 8AM Brodie went back to our regular vet.  She examined him and took an xray.  The mass was still in his stomach and hadn't changed much. She emailed the xrays and called the internal medicine doctor, Dr. Justin, who would do the surgery. They discussed Brodie and agreed that he needed surgery. He would try endoscopy first and then traditional surgery is he couldn't get the mass with endoscopy. So off Brodie and I went to the TLC Center about 30 minutes away.  He got checked in.  They were going to work him into the schedule today. Dr Justin called me about 3:30 to just go over what he was going to do and the possibility that endoscopy might not work for getting the mass, depending on what it was.  He would call me with results.  About 4:30 Dr Justin called me again.  Before Brodie went into surgery but after he had been given his surgery meds, he started vomiting again. Dr. Justin said the meds can cause nausea.  BUT Brodie vomited up a huge hair ball! They did another xray and the stomach looked pretty clear. Dr Justin said he still wanted to do endoscopy to make sure everything was out and his stomach lining was in good shape.  About 6PM, Dr Justin called and said the procedure was over. There was nothing left in Brodie's stomach and his lining was fine. He could come home in an hour.

So off I went and picked him up and brought him home!!  He was sooo happy and starving. He could have a small meal this evening and back to his regular feeding tomorrow AM.

We have instructions to follow up with our regular vet to get on routine hair ball prevention program.

Thank you all again for all the good vibes for Brodie!

Thank goodness Brody is ok. Our kitty just crossed the rainbow bridge about a month ago. We are still very sad, watching our Furrie babies get old is really hard. Kim

Such great news!! We are thrilled for Brodie and the rest of the family! I wonder if there was any puggle/pug hair in his stomach too? Just sayin'. Happy eating Brodie!
