Going Home

Our house guests are going home tomorrow.  I'm really going to miss them!
I love to watch the ferrets and they like me, too. Hu-mom lets me sit on the dining room chair and watch. The kitties do the same thing but she didn't get a shot of them. Since they're not allowed on the table, they run when she comes into the room! They don't know they are allowed on the chairs, BOL.

Kathy here-just to let you know, we don't eat at this table while the ferrets are here! We usually eat at the breakfast room table, in case you were wondering. You are seeing the ferrets and Ripley in their traveling cages. When the ferrets are at their own home, they have a huge cage. It sits on the floor and is almost 5 feet high and 4 feet wide. The ferrets also have a hugh playpen out in the open. Ripley has a parrot cage almost that big plus a "T" stand.  That's something in the open that he stands on and is about 5" high as well.  His wings are kept clipped so he can't fly. I'm sure they will be happy to get home to their humans and their own spaces! It is fun to have exotic animals for a few days and experience their uniquenesses. They are a lot of work and dedication.  African Grays live to be 80 years old, so it is a lifetime commitment. Melissa and Dana adopted Ripley as a baby.  So he is about 6 years old if my calculations are correct. Unfortunately, ferrets have a much shorter life span. Tonks and Uncle Fester both have ferret sickies and are reaching the end of their life span.

Aren't those such cute faces?  I wish hu-mom would let me get a little closer.

Hu-mom shot some Flip video of our house guests, enjoy it.
