Roller Derby - Sorry No Dogs!

Hu-mom and family went to hu-sisters' DC Roller Girls bouts today and left us 4 leggers at home. They have such a good time, hu-mom wanted to share a video and pictures with everyone in Blogville. Now, Roller Derby is not like it was in the 60's!  It is a family fun event!  (except only Service Dogs are allowed, gosh darn it.) The girls are from all walks of life and between the ages of 21 and 42 or so. They all have "real" jobs, some police officers, some in the military, some secretaries, lawyers, etc, etc.  They use their spare time to practice at least 3x a week after work and at least one time each weekend and all are very committed to the Roller Girls .  Hu-mom took 2 videos and some shots of the activities today.

Today's bouts were:

Season 5 Championship Bout:DC DemonCats vs.
Scare Force One

Plus Cherry Blossom Bombshells vs. Capital Offenders

DC Demon Cats vs Scare Force One lined up for Referee check

Referees are stationed in the middle of the track and on the outside of the track.

The head ref was Limbs Akimbo, one of our daughter's in law! She has on the red helmet.  Sorry about the quality of the photos, something is up with hu-mom's camera.

My hu-sister, Styx N Stones
#206 of the Cherry Blossom Bombshells.

Limbs Akimbo one of my hu-sisters in laws.

I wish doggies were allowed in the DC Armory, it sounds like it would be great fun!

We dedicate this post to Salinger's mom, who dreams of becoming a roller girl!

Love,
Minnie : )
