Surgery for Hu-mom

Hu-mom at the keyboard today.  It will be a week tomorrow (Friday) since my knee surgery.  I guess it was a little more involved than what I imagined.  I figured I would bounce back and be fine by now.  Maybe it's my age (way over 50) but I've had a positive attitude!  I still hope to be back to near normal soon.

Minnie, Mack and Mario have basically not left my side.  I hang out on the couch all day and only go up/down the stairs in the morning and the evening. Mack is usually by my feet. Mario is somewhere near my knees and Minnie is usually nearer my head, like on the back of the couch. Their warmth is so soothing!  Hu-dad is working from home so I have plenty to help!

What we do all day.

After surgery, my knees were swollen, and about the size of my thighs.  Very attractive!

The writing on my knees was for the surgeon.  Since I was having a different procedure done on each knee, they were labeled so there would be no mistakes in the OR!  The marker turned out to be permanent.  And I have to wear the white no blood clots stockings. A real fashion statement. LOL. A follow up doctor appointment is scheduled tomorrow, so hopefully, the stockings will be history and the stitches will come out.

I now know that I can not tolerate most pain killers...Percoset and Vicodin. And Advil causes me to have intestinal disturbances.  My daughter said medicinal marijuana is used for nausea and pain killers.  Wonder if it has worked for any one in Blogville?  It is available via prescription.

We haven't been able to check in with most of our blog friends. We hope in the next week or so to get back to normal or close to it.

Our son, Josh, is back home for a short time before moving to Hawaii.  Minnie and Mack were so happy to see him!  Mario had never met him and liked him immediately!

Stay cool and enjoy the summer.

Hi Kathy, Minnie, Mack and Mario!
Ohhh Kathy, I hope that you will be feeling better soon, I love the first photos of the Puggys all snuggled up taking care of you! Bless!
Have they been good for you??
Oh it is funny that the marker turned out to be permanent but at least they got it right in the Operating room and it is a pretty colour I guess! Like a cool knee Tattoo! Ha,Ha!
I hope that your follow-up Doctors appointment goes well! Bless you!
Sorry but I have no idea if the medicinal marijuana is available via prescription or if it even works, it sure would be good tho!!

My Vickie is full of compassion for you as she only had one knee done and she was moaning and groanin for weeks. (Not really, she was otu working about five days after the surgery) It is amazing how they move you along now days with the modern surgical techniques.

Funny about the marker though.

Take good care of Kathy.

Oh My Dog, that surgery was pretty serious-like. Admittedly, the hoisery isn't going to get you on the cover of Victoria's secret, but hey, what can you do :) Hope you pups are taking good care of your Mom. Um...Mom doesn't know much about the medicinal mary jane, but she says that if obtained legally and used responsibly, might be good fur you. Seems like the surgery peoples could have used a sticker or something rather than permanent marker. Sheesh. Just think of it as a bad to the bone tattoo! haha.

Bless your heart! The marks on your knees aren't pretty but better that than the doctors messing up! Can't imagine how hot those stockings must be either. Our family has a bad history with most pain killers, too. My (human) grandmother had surgery on her neck and had a morphine pump. Except the morphine made her throw up which really did a number on her neck sutures. I personally can only take vicodin if I go right to sleep, otherwise it's not pretty.
We hope your check up goes well and that you are on the road to recovery soon.

Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to understand a lot approximately
this, such as you wrote the book in it or something.
I feel that you can do with some p.c. to pressure the message home a little bit,
but other than that, this is excellent blog. A great read.
I will certainly be back.
