Mario Update

Recovering Mario

Mario was ready to come late yesterday afternoon.  He had two upper molars pulled.  The vet said they were the ones that had 3 roots, that had broken off, probably from hard chewing....ouch.   He was a  little wobbly and very sleepy for most of the evening. He did have his appetite last night.  The 1st thing he did when he got home was pee....he must have saved it up all day.  The back yard was flooded, LOL.  He will be on antibiotics for 2 weeks since one of the molars was VERY infected.

Right below the top finger, is where the badly infected tooth used to live.
He slept pretty good last night, but had a runny nose, was sneezing some and licking his chops often.  Thank goodness for pain killers.

Oscar did fine, he had 3 little teeth pulled.  He was even more wobbly than Mario.  If asked, he wouldn't have been able to walk a straight line. He was so happy to see his foster mom when we dropped him off last night!

We're glad to get that over with.  Hu-mom is going to have double knee surgery this summer, so she's trying to get everyone taken care of before she is out of commission.

Mack is next in line to get his teeth cleaned.  Our vet is pretty expensive, like most private vets.  There is a surgery center about 2 hours away that does doggie dental for $155:

DENTAL SCALING / POLISHING (includes all extractions and medications necessary) - $155

They come highly recommended so hu-mom is going to make the trek soon for Mack!  Luckily, my teeth are in good shape.  Maybe next year will be my turn!

Have a wonderful week!

Love, Minnie : )

Oh my, so glad they are feeling better and had those pesky teefers taken care of. Sending well wishes and thoughts to the pups and Hu-Mom as she embarks on her surgery. I, too, have been thru recent surgeries and am looking at more and it is always on my mind that I have everyone taken care of as much as possible while I am out of commission as well.

Hi Minnie, Mack and Mario!
Awww poor Mario, he looks so sorry for himself in the photo but he looks cute as cute can be! I want to give him a big hug!!! Those nasty teefs giving him the ouchies! I had to have my two front baby teefs out while I was under having my ummm ... manhood taken away! when I woke up I was hurting at both ends! I know how poor Mario feels! I'm so glad Mario was good for the dentist and Oscar too! Bless them!
Juju and prayers for them and for Hu-Mom for her double knee surgery soon! I hope all you doggies are good for her!!
To answer your questions from my blog, I love to watch the ducks in the lake, I like to hear them quack and the ducklings make the sweetest noises and they are so fuzzy and cute! I do talk to them but I have a bit of a language barrier as they quack and I sort of woof at them!!! Hee,Hee!
Yes thats my Dad sportin' a Mohawk!! Love, Licks and Hugs from your Furiend Frank xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Poor guy. The whole process is just too much, isn't it???? Wish they could sit in a cute little chair and get them cleaned without going under!!!! We have 3 that need dentals right now, but Marty is 13 and Chloe nearly 10 and it all makes me SO nervous!

Toofer cleanings are grrreat to keep us healthy. We get them done once a year now. And every time I loose more toofers. Thats sad but I put them under me pillow and get milk bones!

Mario don't furget to put them under your bed!

Get better and feel better very soon, Mario... by the way, do you think Puggles are smarter than pugs? I hate to say this, since I am a pug... but puggles look smarter (?)

Glad to hear that Mario & Oscar came through their teeth cleaning procedures well! Poor things - I remember what it's like to be wobbly afterwards as I had mine done at the end of last year!

Oh! And Hsin-Yi's mummy is going to have double-knee surgery too! What a coincidence! That is why Hsin-Yi is leaving us and going to Taiwan for a lot of July...to look after her mummy.

Good luck with yours - and with Mack for his teeth!

Honey the Great Dane
