Lumps on Mack's Chest

Here's the story---when Mack moved permanently in with us about 3 years ago, he came with a lump on his chest.  His old vet aspirated it and said it was a "fatty" tumor.  (I hope hu-mom told me the correct words....) and by the way, Mack is not FAT!

Well, the other night, Mack was flipped over and getting tummy rubs from hu-mom while they were watching TV.  Hu-mom said "That's funny, Mack, your thingy has moved!"  After further investigation, she discovered that the old one was still in the original place but there was another one near by just closer to his arm pit.

Mack waiting patiently in little room at the vet.

The next morning she called and got a VET appointment with our favorite vet, Dr. Irwin.
Today Mack visisted Dr Irwin.  He told me he got a LOT of treats but was not real happy with being poked and proded.  He was gone a looooong time.  I was at hu-mom's work and was really missing them. I had to hang out with my Aunts at work so, it wasn't all a lost cause!
He did have to have the lumps aspirated again and checked.  With much relief we can report they are both "fatty" lumps and no worry.  Hu-mom just needs to keep an eye on them in case they change or grow.
Mack listening to sounds outside the little room.

Mack also told me that before Dr. Irwin could get into the little room to visit, a doggie with an emergency came in.  Poor doggie was having lots of seizures, so that's what took us so long.  We were happy to wait while the sick doggie was getting medical attention!

Mack shiffing to find out who had been in little room before him.  Hu-mom though he might pee on the stool!

Hu-mom and hu-dad were very relived to hear the good news. Hu-mom was going to take more pictures, but forgot when Dr. Irwin came in.  She always forgets!

Hope your news is good, too!

Love,
Minnie  :)

That's great news! Chloe (my parents' 12 year-old dog) has about 3 or 4 of those "lipomas" (fatty tumors) and is actually having one of them on her chest removed when she has her spleen and bladder surgery on Tuesday. They're going to remove it because it's right where she lies down and can make it uncomfortable.

Well that's a relief. It's not fun to find lumps, but I'm glad it's not serious. Give Mack a big hug from me please.

So glad to hear Mack's okay. I'm sure you were all very worried and relieved when you heard the news. It's great you were able to get in so quickly to your vet so you didn't have to spend any more time wondering.

Please give Mack tummy rubs for us. It sounds like he was very brave!

Mack, we're glad your lumps are nothing to worry about! We have lots of those fatty lumps, too - even though we're all on the thinner side of perfect weight.
Tummy rubs for all!

Phew! Great news. Our lab had many fatty lumps as well. She lived to the healthy age of 15! But it is good to keep an eye on new developments.

Oh, that's a relief about your fat lumps, Mack. I have lots of them actually - ever since I started getting older - and they come & go. I guess on you, though, they feel a lot bigger since you're a little guy! :-)
