Who's Been in My Backyard?

Good morning, Blogville peoples!

This morning when we got up and looked out the window, a path was stomped down in our pretty summer flowers!

You could see a path from one side to the other in a small arc shape behind the green chairs.  The path was pretty wide so we wonder if it was a deer.

Looking out a 2nd floor window, see the path?

Well, it was in the low 40's today.  I imagine the 1st frost will be upon us soon and that will kill the flowers. Leaves are falling like crazy but no change in colors yet.

It's raining, again, so Mack and I were not up to going outside and being in the pictures.  Our Pug meet up yesterday was cancelled due to the weather....and so was the Puggle meet up for today.

Kitty Wars are raging still.  The last fight, a few days ago, was brutal and both kitties had scabs all over their bodies. Brodie had a bloody lip.  Hu-mom had been with them for about an hour and they were fine.  She left the room without taking Osiris out and went downstairs to help Grandmother when they heard all hell break lose.

Our vet recommended a feline behaviorist, but her fees are just too steep, especially now that hu-mom is unemployed. So hu-mom is still trying to get the two of them back on friendly terms but just for a lot less green papers.

We are expecting sunshine later this week and can't wait!  Hope the weather in Texas starts to cool down and the rest of the world is calm.

Love, Minnie : )

I wonder if it was a bear. When HH and I stayed in Black Mountain North Carolina for a month, HH was told to take the garbage to the realtor dumpster instead of putting it in the garbage can at the house we rented... You know why...? BEARS...

Anyway, hope the kitties start getting along. That must be upsetting to all of you.

Those poor flowers! Looks like a pretty big area that was stomped on...or laid on. Sorry it's still raining. It's been nice here, but just a tad bit too cold and windy to have too many adventures. Maybe this week? Oh, and be careful with all those cat attacks. I sure hope they find peace soon.
Love,
Payton

Hi Minnie & Mack,

Could the flower stomper be a moose, bear or Sasquatch? Stay Safe. If I was there, I would be on night patrol to catch the culprit.

Thanks for the shout out for Texas weather. Finally receiving some relief.

Hugs,
Suki

Maybe the deer were eating your flowers? We hope that the kitties get their act together soon-no fun fighting all that time :(

It surely does look like a deer might have made a Lovely Bed in your flowers.

Sorry about the CAT FIGHTS. Hope they work it out ... SOON.

Hi Minnie & Mack,
I dont know who the flower stomper could be?? We dont have large critters roaming the yards in Wales really, we dont have bears and things! You will have to set up a night camera and each of you take turns to see if you can see any strange goings on! Its Halloween soon so it could have been a ghost or a witch?? Oh no not Kitty wars AGAIN! I hope that it all gets sorted soon and all pugs and kittys get along!
We have had really strange weather in Wales, we have had a heat wave and its the begining of october!! It should be freezing!! Love,Licks and Phugs Frank xxxxxxx

oh dear! I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty wars! Have your humans tried a Feliway diffuser? I've heard that they can be very successful in helping kitties feel calmer and more settled – and maybe less grumpy. Also, we've heard that in multi-cat households, it helps to have lots of "resources" so there is less excuses/opportunities for them to fight. So apparently, you're supposed to have one litter tray per Kitty plus one extra, and also the same for food bowls and water bowls and beds.

Has your human also tried finding a special treat that they both love which they don't get any other time – and she only feeds it to them when they are together (and being nice, of course!) – It's sort of like classical conditioning, to let them associate each other with nice things – super nice things.

There is a special lady/feline behaviourist who has written a lot of books. I don't know if you have heard of her. She is English and lives in the UK. Her name is Vicky Halls ( http://www.vickyhalls.net/) and we have a couple of her books. They are very good and she has lots of good advice about integrating multi-cat household and also just about helping you understand Kitty behaviour in general. They are very interesting books. Maybe your human can find them in your library? her website also has some info.

Good luck!
