Hike

Today was a beautiful, sunny, warm fall day.  Hu-mom and Auntie Dana and I went for a hike at Difficult Run Park in Great Falls, VA.
Mack is not a great hiker so he got to stay home with Grandmother.
The trail is a mixture of leaves, rocks, boulders, tree logs, streams, creeks and mud! This is a Cross Country Trail (CCT) which has about 40 miles of linked paths leading from the Occoquan River to the Potomac River at Great Falls Park.   It is said that this CCT offers a feeling that approximates a hike on the Appalachian Trail. It was a fairly hard hike for me, being a smallish doggie and for hu-mom, who is, ahhh, older....
At one point we had to jump from boulder to boulder to get over Difficult Run.  The boulders were flat on top, but spaced fairly far apart with the rapid water flowing down below.  On the way over the 1st time, I wouldn't have anything to do with them or the water.  Hu-mom ended up carrying me.  On they way back, she showed me that I could jump from boulder to boulder and I was brave and did it!
We did take a picture of this, but, somehow, they are not on Droid. I guess Droid ate them.

This is Auntie Dana and me at the start of our hike.  I was anxious to get going and would NOT look at the camera!

We did not hike the 40 miles, no way.  We hiked for about 1 hour or so.  It was great and we hope to go back soon!

Hope everyone has recovered from Halloween. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and all the yummies that go along with the festivities!

Love, Minnie :)

Hi Minnie! Oh, those fall colors are so pretty, I bet it was a great walk! I hope your pictures show up later so we can see your adventurous jumps! I'm not very athletic either so I'd probably have to stay home like Mack. Speaking of him, please tell him I said Hi and send hugs and kisses!
Love,
Payton

looks like a great time and perfect weather, I love hiking with the duo but I sure wish they were small enough for me to carry if they got too tired :)

Hi Minnie, I think the hike sounds incredible, the photos are wonderfully Autumny all those gorgeous leaves glowing with their bright reds, yellows, oranges and golds! Poor Mack being left at home when there wad such beauty to be seen and such adventure! I'm so proud of you for jumping those rocks you are the best puggle hiker! As you know me and Mum love our hikes and she says she would have loved for us both to be with you! I guess you need a big hike to lose some weight ready for the food and Yummy treats at Thanksgiving and Christmas! In the UK we have Guy Fawks night next 5th November where we have bonfires and fireworks and eat toffee apples, hot dogs and beef stew made with stout or cider! Mmm! Love and pHUGS Frank x x x x

What a beautiful area you live. Those colours are just amazing. I can see why you would want to get going on the hike.
